Windsor Tells Detroit to Quiet Down Over Concert Noise

Windsor residents make noise complaints over a recent festival held in Detroit’s Chene Park.

Officials in Windsor say Detroit needs to tone down some of the noise coming from concert venues in the city.

A letter being drafted by Windsor officials alleges that residents there were disturbed by a recent concert held in Detroit’s Chene Park, when organizers directed music speakers towards the Canadian city and played late into the night. Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens says the festival promoter and the general manager of the park have already said they are sorry for the musical barrage.

“This is really one of those one-off type things that have happened here, and they have reached out and apologized. A mistake was made, and certainly as the mayor of the city, I accept their apology and accept the fact that they recognize that there’s a better way to do things for everyone involved.”

Dilkens says this issue should not affect other events in Detroit, such as the Movement electronic music festival or the upcoming MO POP festival.
