“The thing that we strive for is just having a lot of fun. I don’t think I actively think that I’ve got to combine all these different genres… I think it’s just like a playground”

Nigel Hemmye and Andrew Ficker started jamming together in high-school in between band practice. Now, they record music as Nigel & The Dropout, one of Detroit’s most promising new bands. Blending a melange of electronic beats and guitar-driven riffs, the two blur the lines between the city’s history of rock and techno to make something sonically interesting and singular. The band crashes Culture City to preview their latest release, Folderal before their album release show at The Loving Touch in Ferndale on Saturday, May 16th with special guests
