New WDET Film Features ‘Radiolab’ Hosts, Ghostly International Co-Founder [Video]

Radiolab’s Jad Abumrad and electronic musician Matthew Dear discuss music and creativity in “The Pleasure of Sound.”

“The Pleasure of Sound” is an independent film produced by WDET, Mikel Ellcessor, and The Work in partnership with Ghostly International. The film captures two days with Jad Abumrad & Matthew Dear as they make music and explore the creativity that fuels their work. 

Matthew Dear is an internationally acclaimed musician and co-founder of Ghostly International. Jad Abumrad is a Macarthur and Peabody award-winning radio producer and host of WNYC’s Radiolab , which airs on WDET 101.9 FM Fridays at 2 p.m.

Shot entirely at Detroit locations (Wayne State University, The Detroit Design Center, Movement Electronic Music Festival, The Empowerment Plan and WDET), the film also features original recordings of Detroit Symphony Orchestra musicians.
