WDET has been looking at the impact tornadoes have had on Metro Detroit, as the region prepares for the 50th anniversary of the Palm Sunday tornado outbreak this week.

While Michigan isn’t in the middle of the so-called “tornado alley,” the state regularly sees twisters.  Andrew Humphrey is a certified broadcast meteorologist and reporter at WDIV – TV here in Detroit.  WDET’s Jerome Vaughn asked him to define a tornado.
