The Michigan State Police is adding Clinton Township to the governor’s emergency designation for Macomb County.

Governor Snyder declared the county to be in a state of emergency after a sewer line collapse in Fraser last month created a major sinkhole near 15 Mile and Hayes.

Lieutenant Tim Ketvertis says the State Police is keeping an eye on all communities affected by the sinkhole.

“There’s 11 communities with 300,000 plus individuals that are on that sanitary system at this time. And that’s what we watch for at the state level, to see how it’s being managed, is there any other issues that could arise,” Ketvertis says.

The Fraser sinkhole forced the evacuation of several homes on Christmas Eve.
