Brenda Lawrence has won a second term in the 14th Congressional District.

The Congresswoman says her re-election was a call from the people to continue her work.

Lawrence says she will continue to fight for social justice.

“In the US Congress we will do the work to ensure equal pay, that we continue to respect and protect women’s rights, that criminal justice will not just be for some but for all of us,” Lawrence says.

Lawrence beat her Republican opponent, Doctor Howard Klausner, with more than 70 percent of the vote.
