The Michigan Associated Press Media Editors have honored WDET with 15 awards for its work in 2020. Nine of these are first place awards, including first place for “Outstanding News Operation.”

Throughout 2020, the WDET newsroom remained committed to providing timely, balanced and factual information about the pandemic, protests against racial injustice and the election while also highlighting stories of our local community.

We’re proud to serve the Detroit community and thankful for the support of our listeners, without whom, stories like the ones below could not be produced.
