Construction in the City of Detroit is being used as a way to bridge two communities together by adding bike lanes as well as wider and walkable paths for pedestrians.

Rob Morosi is a spokesperson for the Michigan Department of Transportation. He says changes have been made to plans for the Midtown, I-94 and other construction based on community feedback.

We had numerous community meetings on I-94, environmental assessments and we launched a supplemental study back in 2017, so that was one of the things we heard from the biking community, that we like to see additional features put into overpasses,” Morosi says.
