RELATIONSHIP TO ED: Former colleague at WDET

I’m so delighted to congratulate Ed for 60 years on Detroit radio! The years we worked together at WDET were magical, and I am honored to have had the opportunity to count Ed as a colleague, and a friend. While Ed’s contributions to jazz and the cultural life of Detroit are too many to list, my deep admiration, respect and appreciation for Ed are also for his skills and talents as a broadcaster. Ed created thoughtful, intelligent, and engaging programming that connected with listeners. And what fun we had during the pledge drives! Happy 60th Anniversary, Ed!! Here’s to lots more Destination Jazz: The Ed Love Program!!

Ed Love | 60 Years of Jazz in Detroit

This post is a part of Ed Love | 60 Years of Jazz in Detroit.

Ed Love is a musical institution. Generations of Detroiters know Ed as the voice who guided us through almost 60 years of "Destination Jazz: The Ed Love Program", playing the classics and introducing us to new music each week on WDET-FM.

Now, into his sixth decade of radio, Love is still working, introducing yet another generation to the jazz tradition and the power of music.

Join us in celebrating Ed Love’s 60 Years of Jazz in Detroit.
