We are not out of the woods. We can’t let down.” — Dr. Joneigh Khaldun, State of Michigan

Dr. Joneigh Khaldun, Michigan’s Chief Medical Executive, says there are still COVID-19 outbreaks across the state and its important to stay vigilant.

We are not out of the woods. We can’t let down,” says Khaldun. In order to mitigate a potential contemporaneous flu and COVID-19 outbreak it is important for people to get the flu shot. Khaldun says she really hopes people take the flu seriously this year and get the shot, despite widespread false claims about the vaccine.

She denied reports that state officials are preparing to reopen gyms and movie theaters.

Whatever we do we have to be mindful of the public health outcomes,” says Dr. Khaldun.
