Manuel “Matty” Moroun, Owner of Ambassador Bridge, Dead at 93

The billionaire was a trucking magnate and had been criticized for his stewardship of Michigan Central Depot.

Detroit billionaire Manuel “Matty” Moroun has died. Moroun was 93-years-old.  

The trucking magnate had drawn criticism after allowing the Michigan Central Depot to fall into disrepair during his decades of ownership. Moroun sold the building to Ford in 2018.  

Moroun also owned the Ambassador Bridge and had sued to stop the construction of the Gordie Howe International Bridge which would compete with his span.  

Forbes estimated his net worth to be $1.7 Billion dollars.
