From March Madness to intimate dinner parties, events small and large have been canceled as people nationwide are encouraged to practice social distancing in an attempt to slow the spread of coronavirus.

But we’re here to tell you that being housebound doesn’t have to be boring! Check out these virtual and at-home experiences to keep you and your family occupied.

  • Stream Broadway performances from the comfort of your couch.
  • For those of you who prefer the finer things, The Metropolitan Opera is hosting free nightly opera streams.
  • WKAR has compiled a list of concerts available via live stream.

  • Check out the Detroit Public Library’s Digital Collection for e-books, audiobooks and media, and Royal Oak Public Library’s Digital Collection
  • Hoopla is a digital streaming platform that lets library cardholders instantly borrow digital movies, music, and eBooks.
  • RB Digital has a variety of digital magazines (National Geographic, Cooks’ Illustrated, etc) as well as audiobooks.
  • Libby lets you borrow ebooks and digital audiobooks.
