“In The Thick” Podcast in Southwest Detroit Discussing Super Tuesday, Michigan Primary

101.9 WDET and Latino USA hosted a community conversation in Southwest Detroit on the upcoming Michigan primary election from the perspective of people of color.

On Wednesday, March 4th, 101.9 WDET and Latino USA presented a live community conversation at the Senate Theater in Southwest Detroit. The event was recorded as an episode of Futuro Media’s “In The Thick,” a political podcast from the perspective of a changing America.

Co-hosted by Maria Hinojosa and award winning journalist, Julio Ricardo Varela, the conversation examines the perspective of people of color in the upcoming elections.

Stephen Henderson, host of WDET’s Detroit Today and Migladys Bermudez, an immigration attorney with Justice for Our Neighbors-Michigan joined Maria and Julio in a lively conversation about Super Tuesday and the Michigan Primary.

“In The Thick” is a podcast about politics from a perspective of people of color, hosted by Maria Hinojosa and Julio Ricardo Varela, selected as the #2 and #9 most influential national Latino political commentators for the 2016 presidential election in a survey of Latino opinion leaders conducted by the National Institute for Latino Policy.
