After a hectic summer, McFly is wrapping up 2019 with a trio of musical projects under his belt and a celebration of what’s to come next in the city’s cultural scene.

Sheefy McFly made national headlines earlier this year when he was arrested by the Detroit Police Department for painting a mural that the City of Detroit paid him to paint. Charges were later dropped, but the notoriety has taken McFly into a different stratosphere entirely — and he hasn’t wasted the opportunity.

Actively working as an artist, musician and producer in Detroit for over the past ten years, McFly has released three musical projects already this year — and now he’s getting ready to celebrate the next generation of Detroit artists and musicians with his annual “The Air Up There” event at Bob’s Classic Kicks on Woodward and Forest in Detroit.

Click the audio player above to hear Sheefy McFly debut songs from his latest project “Paintings on the Porch” and talk about the 10th anniversary of his “The Air Up There” event with CultureShift’s Ryan Patrick Hooper.

The Air Up There” is happening on Saturday, November 30th at Bob’s Classic Kicks from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. A full list of performers can be seen above. The $10 entry fee includes a copy of Sheefy McFly’s new album “Paintings on the Porch.”
