However, another important part of the conversation about food is where what we eat comes from, and how it’s grown. Good produce starts with healthy soil, and the founder of the Detroit mushroom farm Fungi Freights wants to help local gardeners heal their soil with the power of mushrooms.  

Tess Burzynski is an environmental scientist and the founder of Fungi Freights. On Saturday, September 21, Fungi Freights will host a workshop with environmental specialist Leif Olson to teach urban farmers how to use fungi in their backyards and community gardens.
