Here are Michigan Voters’ Rights Guaranteed by Prop 3 Last Year

The ACLU of Michigan has been hosting a three-part online training series this month that is wrapping up tomorrow.
The aim is to provide Michiganders with an update on the new voting rights citizens secured in 2018 and how to partner with local election officials to increase access to the ballot. Michigan voters passed Proposal 3 expanding voting rights statewide, making Michigan a national leader with a voting system that works. That change is expected to increase turnout in 2020 by 400,000 people.
ACLU of Michigan Voting Rights Strategist Sharon Dolente joins Detroit Today host Stephen Henderson to talk about the organization’s efforts.
“The two key things most instrumental in Proposal 3 is the fact that you can now register to vote at any time and every registered voter in the state now has the right to get an absentee ballot,” says Dolente.
The ACLU published the first and only comprehensive guide to voting rights since Prop 3 passed that is available on their website.
