Preview of Chazz Miller’s New Mural: “What We Need is Education”

The artist collaborated with the local community on what the content and form of the public mural would become.

As the sun set in the Fitzgerald neighborhood Tuesday, visions of Chazz Miller’s new mural design came into view — projected on the side of a building.

After months of collaborating with the block clubs that surround the location along Puritan Avenue, Miller created an image to reflect what the community says is important to it: education. Miller says the piece — he calls it “What we want is education” — depicts scenes of “each one teach one.” There are, he says, other elements in the design taken from ideas the community shared.

Miller expects the mural to be complete by the end of August.
