The Motor City was well-represented on “America’s Got Talent” Tuesday night. The performance by the Detroit Youth Choir was a first for the talent show – a choir has never been on the program, let alone won.

Singing “Can’t Hold Us” by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, the group danced and rapped their way to a standing ovation.

The performance met with universal acclaim from the judges, including Gabrielle Union: “What we all witnessed here tonight was nothing short of absolute brilliance.” Host Terry Crews was moved to tears, along with most of the choir.

“I remember sitting at my window in Flint, Michigan, dreaming and wanting to make it and be here,” Crews says. “They’re here.”

Crews used the show’s Golden Buzzer to automatically advance the choir into the next round of shows, guaranteeing them another performance and a chance to vie for the million dollar grand prize. Watch a video of their performance below.
