The Lindell Athletic Club was an infamous Detroit bar in its day.

The place was notorious for patron brawls and a celebrity clientele before closing in the early 2000s.

This weekend at the Detroit Historical Museum, the Lindell will be re-created inside the museum. The documentary film, The Lindell AC, America’s First Sports Bar will also be shown.

CultureShift’s Amanda LeClaire spoke to John Urbanek, one of the film’s producers, about the Lindell’s history.
