This week, we’re heading to downtown Clawson for a new hybrid restaurant-retail concept.

Opening in late spring, Three Cats and a Cook is the brainchild of retailer Mary Liz Curtin and chef Matt Prentice.

“(Three Cats) is in the old historic Clawson movie theater,” says Baetens. “(Chef Prentice) told me he’s doing American food—locally sourced as much as possible. He lives in Midtown and he’s seen the small plates thing really thrive and flourish  [in the area], but he’s not seeing it as much in the suburbs.”
