Michigan faces multiple crises, including education, water quality, infrastructure, and more, according to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, who sent that message during her first State of the State address on Tuesday night.

Angela Vasquez-Giroux is a former journalist and occasional political consultant who previously worked for state Senate Democrats, and is currently doing communications for Planned Parenthood of Michigan.

Bill Nowling is managing partner with Lambert, Edwards & Associates. He has managed communications for public officials in Michigan over many years, including for Republicans in Lansing.

Craig Thiel is the research director with the Citizens Research Council of Michigan, which just released a report titled, “Michigan’s Leaky Teacher Pipeline: Examining Trends in Teacher Demand and Supply.”

Chastity Pratt Dawsey is a reporter with Bridge Magazine who has covered education issues in Michigan for years.
