Michael Smerconish: We’re Not As Divided As We’re Led to Believe

Smerconish brings his talk “American Life in Columns” to the Crofoot in Pontiac on Sunday at 2 p.m.

American politics feel as divided as ever in the Trump era. But is that really true?

Are we as a nation as partisan and alienated as social media and even traditional media lead us to believe?

Those are some of the questions national radio and TV host Michael Smerconish explores in his talk “American Life in Columns,” which comes to the Crofoot Ballroom in Pontiac this Sunday at 2 PM.

Smerconish is the host of The Michael Smerconish Program on SiriusXM’s POTUS Channel and Smerconish on CNN. He considers himself to be politically independent and has supported and worked for both Republican and Democratic public officials during his long career in politics.

He speaks with Detroit Today’s Jake Neher about the media’s role in partisan division, what can be done about the rancorous political climate, and his upcoming appearance.
