Analysts say Ford has been losing money pretty much everywhere except North America.

And it is eliminating sedan production in the U.S. to focus mostly on trucks and crossover vehicles.

Now Ford officials say they want to streamline the company’s bureaucracy.

That means changing the size of its roughly 200,000-person global workforce, which includes about 70,000 salaried employees.

Officials say the specific number of workers affected should be known by the middle of next year.

The Dearborn-based automaker had already announced it wants to cut more than $25 billion in operating costs over the next half-decade.
