Bonny Doon Find Themselves on New Record “Longwave” Ahead of Third Man Records Gig

“We made this record really quickly,” says Bonny Doon member Bill Lennox.

On Saturday, April 14th, Detroit band Bonny Doon will be performing at Third Man Records in Midtown

Doon released their sophomore album, Longwavein March and will be hitting the road this summer.

WDET’s Ryan Patrick Hooper speaks with band members Bill Lennox and Bobby Colombo about the process of recording the new album.

“We made this record really quickly,” says Lennox. “We rented a house up in rural Michigan and wrote it in four or five days. It was just very spontaneous and free.”

Although Longwave was released this year, Doon has been waiting to release their music for over two years.

“That’s part of the problem with music is the long turnaround,” says Colombo. “I think a lot of musicians would express frustration with that.”
