THIS SUNDAY: Tune into The Progressive Underground as we have an interview with iconic falsetto/R & B crooner Russell Thompkins Jr (pictured middle), lead singer of the legendary Philly Soul group The Stylistics (one of the leading purveyors of the Philly soul movement of the 1970s) in advance of their show next week at Detroit’s Fox Theatre. We also interview artist/poet Joel Fluent Greene, who will talk about his latest upcoming event “Love Her, Love Him,” an evening of poetry, music and performance happening next week as well. It’ll be an evening of deep soulful vibrations and profound thoughtstyle.

We also sample tracks from GoGo Penguin, Laurence Guy, Omar, Jamiroquai, The Nonce, J. Lamotta & the Dizzy Sparrow, Crayon, Remi, Sampa the Great, Moodymann, Paul Randolph, Kathy Kosins, Will Sessions, Amp Fiddler, Ideeya, and may more!

The action happens this Sunday, 8-10 pm EST on 101.9 FM WDET and WDET.org.
