On Wednesday, Larry Nassar was sentenced to 40 to 175 years in prison for sexually assaulting the girls he was treating for sports-related injuries while a team doctor at Michigan State University.
The scale of the victimization is something we have never seen in collegiate-level sports, not even with Jerry Sandusky at Penn State.
Later on Wednesday, MSU President Lou Anna Simon announced her resignation.
The NCAA announced this week it will investigate Michigan State for its action, or inaction, during the period of time Nassar was assaulting student athletes.
Martin also served as a board member and president of the United States Olympic Committee.
