From big names like Herbie Hancock and Miles Mosley, to the amazing talent from the Motor City like Regina Carter and Marcus Elliot, the Detroit Jazz Festival has a line-up this year that is sure to please old and new jazz-heads alike.

The festival is curated by Chris Collins, president and artistic director of the Detroit Jazz Festival.

Collins joins Detroit Today with Stephen Henderson to give a preview of this year’s festivities.

I always say there’s two sides,” says Collins. “There’s our national stuff and our incredible home town legacy.”
