From Farm to Freezer to Table

New program aims to provide locally grown fruits and vegetables year-round

Eastern Market is helping a program that provides locally grown fruits and vegetables year round. The Farm to Freezer program is expanding from northern Michigan into Metro Detroit.

Eastern Market Corporation helped secure federal grant funds so the organization can lease of freezer space.

Brandon Seng is the founder of Farm to Freezer.

He tells WDET’s Amy Miller the program has been a success in helping schools and food pantries offer healthy locally grown food throughout the year.
