Culture Shift catches up with the co-founders of the still pretty new-ish arts advocacy organization Playground Detroit, a group that in short time has collaborated with an array of visual, musical, fashion and culinary artists from Detroit with the goal of exposing their work locally and nationally.

Following an ambitious crowd-sourcing campaign, Playground Detroit has acquired a building on Gratiot near Detroit’s Eastern Market.

As we hear from co-founders Samantha Banks and Paulina Petkosi, we should expect some pretty inventive events going down on Gratiot some time this summer.
