Wayne State University Police Officer Collin Rose Dies

He was shot in the head Tuesday night during a stop off-campus.

Wayne State police officer Collin Rose has died.

He was shot in the head Tuesday night after stopping a man off-campus, on the city’s west side.  He underwent surgery Tuesday night and spent much of the past day in grave condition.

The gun used in the attack has not been found. The ATF has offered a $5,000 reward for information on that weapon.

A suspect was arrested around 10 o’clock Tuesday night.  He’s being held out outstanding warrants, but has not yet been charged in the shooting of Officer Rose.

Collin Rose is the first Wayne State police officer to ever be killed in the line of duty.
