Detroit Media Collaborate to Investigate School Board Candidates

Voters can search database to learn about all 63 candidates

There are 63 candidates for the school board of the newly created Detroit Public Schools Community District. That’s fewer than the number who originally filed to run.

Having so many candidates for such an important, historic election was a challenge for local media wanting to educate voters about the candidates. WDET’s Sascha Raiyn reports on a collaboration between Fox 2 Detroit, the Detroit Free Press, Bridge Magazine and WDET working to do just that.
