One of Detroit’s most awesome Halloween traditions happens within our robust music scene. For years now, local bands (or sometimes just random packs of musicians) have organized all-star cover concerts where they dress-up as and play music from legendary acts.
This weekend, Small’s Bar in Hamtramck is hosting the second annual Covenfest 2016, featuring local musicians portraying the likes of Joan Jett, Missy Elliot, Marilyn Manson, and The Flying Burrito Brothers.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and the organizers of Covenfest say part of the proceeds benefits Turning Point, a vital, local organization that provides counseling, advocacy, and a safe haven for victims of domestic violence.
