Melody Baetens, Karan Bates-Gaisor & Dr. Lainie Epstein

One of Detroit’s most awesome Halloween traditions happens within our robust music scene. For years nowlocal bands (or sometimes just random packs of musicians) have organized all-star cover concerts where they dress-up as and play music from legendary acts.

This weekend, Small’s Bar in Hamtramck is hosting the second annual Covenfest 2016, featuring local musicians portraying the likes of Joan JettMissy ElliotMarilyn Manson, and The Flying Burrito Brothers.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and the organizers of Covenfest say part of the proceeds benefits Turning Point, a vital, local organization that provides counseling, advocacy, and a safe haven for victims of domestic violence.

Coven Fest is October 28th at Small’s Bar in Hamtramck. but tickets here
