DWSD Sued for Not Sharing Information About Relationship with Water Contractor
National consumer watchdog group says DWSD won’t comply with FOIA requests
A national consumer watchdog organization is suing the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department for information regarding its relationship with a private water services contractor. Food and Water Watch says repeated requests for information on contracts and negotiations with Veolia North America have been ignored by DWSD. Veolia is a multi-national company that…among other thing, offers management and evaluation services for water systems and services. Food and Water Watch Senior Staff Attorney Zack Corrigan tells WDET’s Amy Miler the lawsuiit, filed this week, asks DWSD to release the requested documents dating back to 2014.
The Detroit Water and Sewerage Department legal department did not respond to a request for information on this story
