Detroit Digs Dracula: The Bram Stoker Classic Sinks Its Teeth into the Hilberry Theatre

Dracula director and his “Van Helsing” actor speak with Culture Shift about being true to Stoker’s text

Dracula – WSU Dept of Theatre & Dance

Bram Stoker’s Dracula holds-up as a mystical, murderous story of love, vengeance and faith that proves to eternally provide some horrific yet haute material for cinema, television and the stage. Of course, it’s synonymous with Halloween, so the timing is dead-on for director Charles Morey‘s notorious adaptation to be produced in Detroit. He and actor Michael Phillip Thomas, who portrays the hero Van Helsing, spoke with WDET’s Culture Shift.
