The U.S. Senate is expected to vote Thursday on a wide-ranging water infrastructure package that includes funding to help Flint. Michigan Senator Gary Peters (D) tells WDET’s Pat Batcheller the legislation provides money to remove old water pipes. It also includes grants to address health problems that may have been caused by exposure to lead in the city’s water. Peters says the bill has bipartisan support. He expects the Senate to approve the funding and send it to the House of Representatives. Click on the audio player to hear the conversation.
