Wayne County Executive Says State Budget Growing While Local Funding Shrinks

Warren Evans says big and small towns suffer from similar issues; blames term limits and other bureaucratic issues

After three months of traveling to other communities across Michigan, Wayne County Executive Warren Evans says he sees a trend in the financial problems facing cities. So far Evans has held meetings in Trenton, Grand Rapids and Marquette. This week he visits Lansing. His tour is also scheduled to visit Traverse City, Flint and other cities. Evans says he plans to share the data and possible solutions early next year.  Evans tells WDET’s Amy Miller that regardless of political affiliation, rural and urban cities share similar issues
