Twisted Storytellers: “If I Can Get Through This…”

LaTiece Howard is a mother, clinical therapist and advocate. She is the mother of three beautiful sons. Her work focuses primarily on children with special needs in the educational setting, and she has her own developing practice focusing on women and children.

Her experience as both a Muslim and African American woman has shaped her personal and professional endeavors.

LaTiece Howard is a mother, clinical therapist and advocate.

LaTiece obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the University of Michigan and is committed to serving her community. She spearheads several grassroots initiatives each year in the city of Detroit, addressing issues related to homelessness and terminal illness in children.

LaTiece is a lifelong artist, with a passion for writing, henna, singing and painting. She has performed at the Detroit Music Hall Jazz Café, the Charles H. Wright Museum’s Latimer Café, and numerous festivals.  

Poetry and short stories have always been her favorite medium. She often pulls from personal experiences for inspiration.  LaTiece has also shared her love for poetry with the others through workshops and after school programming. She has been published as a mental health professional and a poet. She has also self-published.

In all her endeavors, she encourages everyone to LIVE, not simply exist.
