The Howell Nature Center is taking in a record number of orphaned and injured wild animals this year. The wildlife clinic is closed until August 29 so staff and volunteers can catch up. Wildlife Director Dana DeBenham tells WDET’s Pat Batcheller the clinic has handled 2,355 cases from January 1 through July 31.
