Some Doctors Fear LED Lights are Harming Eyesight

American Medical Association says LED lights help brighten streets but could cause significant health problems.

Like many cities across the country Detroit is replacing old, burned-out street lights with new LED lamps.

But a report from the American Medical Association finds there could be health hazards associated with LED lighting.

The association’s point person for the study, Dr. Maya Babu, tells WDET’s Quinn Klinefelter researchers are especially concerned about LED lights effect on eyesight.
