What’s Your Ride? [MAP]

Sandra Svoboda

While working at his shop, Cycletherapy Bicycles in Waterford, Owner Ernie Dell told WDET what his customers are looking for when it comes to Detroit: routes they can safely and easily ride.

Hear Ernie Dell “Some people don’t know how to get to and from places down there,” says Dell. “I personally have not done much riding down there and it’s always been in a big group. And I couldn’t retake the rides that I’ve done down there.”

OK Ernie, here you go:

Belle Isle. The Dequindre Cut. Mountain biking trails in the city and the suburbs. Leisurely neighborhood rides. WDET is collecting favorite rides from our audience and mapping them.

Share your rides, and we’ll put them online. Then Ernie can share them too.

This post is a part of Detroit by the Numbers.

WDET is putting Detroit’s urban — and suburban — data myths to the test, separating fact from fiction.

Detroit by the Numbers is produced by WDET 101.9 FM and is powered by the Detroit Journalism Cooperative. Support for this project comes from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, Renaissance Journalism’s Michigan Reporting Initiative and the Ford Foundation.
