First Ladies of Wayne County Pledge Funds to Prosecutor Kym Worthy’s (center) sexual assault kit task force.

Wayne County is launching a faith-based partnership to help fund the investigation and prosecution of more than 11,000 untested sexual assault kits. It’s called the Bringing Justice Initiative. The First Ladies of Wayne County, a coalition of pastor wives of some of the county churches, have committed to helping raise money for the effort. Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy spoke with WDET’s Eli Newman. She says though most of the testing has been done, the county still needs to pursue suspects.
