Wayne State University and the University of Michigan are working together on a new project called “Detroiters Speak.” The initiative takes the form of a class for students of both institutions, as well as for Detroit residents. Together, they’ll engage in discussions about racial equity in the city.
Peter Hammer is the Director of the Damon J. Keith Center for Civil Rights at Wayne State University’s Law School. He spoke to WDET’s Jerome Vaughn about the project.
The discussions take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday evenings Cass Corridor Commons, 4605 Cass Ave. in Detroit.
