The Michigan School Reform Office places a CEO over East Detroit High and three schools that feed students into it.

The state’s School Reform Office announced this week it will place an Academic CEO over East Detroit High School and the middle school and two elementary schools that feed the high school. The CEO will be in place before the end of the school year and serve for three years.

WDET’s Sascha Raiyn spoke to State School Reform Officer Natasha Baker. Baker says the CEO will have authority over finances as well as academics for the four schools.
