The Meridian Winter Blast Festival is teaming up with the Community Foundation of Greater Flint to raise money for children affected by that city’s water crisis. The Flint Child Health and Development Fund is raising money to support nutrition, behavioral health, and education services for kids.

Doctor Mona Hanna-Attisha is the founding donor of the fund. She say the money will not be used for bottled water and filters.

“This is our investment in children, to support those interventions such as the early literacy programs, and the educational services, and the behavioral health services, and the nutrition services…because it is these things that will limit the impact of this exposure,” Hanna-Attisha says.

Hanna-Attisha says there is already enough water and filters being donated to the city. She says now it’s time to focus on the future of the children.
