Teacher Absences Close 80+ DPS Schools

Protests continue against poor building conditions, other issues.

Several Detroit Public Schools are closed Wednesday due to a high number of teacher absences. The district listed the closures on its web site and its Facebook page, and also advised staff assigned to those buildings to report for work as usual or take a leave day if they don’t. As of 7:30 a.m., these schools were OPEN:
