Jazz drummer Jimmy Cobb talks about his storied career

If you’re a jazz fan and have listened to classic recordings from jazz legends such as John Coltrane and Miles Davis, you’ve likely heard the rhythmic stylings of drummer Jimmy Cobb. He’s a jazz great in his own right. He was recently named as the Jazz Artist in Residence at the Michigan State University College of Music. He’s also performing with Rodney Whitaker and more this Sunday at the Carr Center in Detroit. WDET’s Alex Trajano spoke with Cobb about his legacy.
