Corporate Stewardship of the Environment

How big business is approaching environmental conservation

Stephen takes a look at the trends in corporate stewardship related to conservations efforts. He speaks with Peter Seligmann; Founder of Conservation International, an organization that works with businesses to improve conservation methods.

Improving Image: Seligmann says brand image is the biggest reason why corporations take steps to improve environmentally friendly practices.

No difference: Seligmann says there is no distinction between cultural acceptance and profitability because if the public doesn’t like a company, they won’t buy the products or services.

Sprint vs. Long Haul: Transitioning to a most environmentally friendly production may cost more initially but Seligmann says in the long run it ends up often saving the corporation money.
