UM Still Measures Football Success Against OSU

When Jim Harbaugh played football at the University of Michigan, he guaranteed the Wolverines would defeat their arch rival, Ohio State, in Columbus in 1986. He and his teammates made good on that promise, as U-M beat the Buckeyes, 26-24. Harbaugh is Michigan’s head coach now, and he makes no guarantees as the Maize and Blue enter Saturday’s game against OSU in Ann Arbor. The Buckeyes have won 10 of the last 11 meetings in the series. WDET Detroit Today producer and sports writer Art Regner tells Pat Batcheller that, win or lose, Michigan has made progress in Harbaugh’s first season as coach.

WHO: Michigan (9-2) vs. Ohio State (10-1).

WHAT: The 112th meeting between the arch rivals (UM leads series, 58-45-6).

WHEN: 12 noon, Saturday, November 28, 2015.

WHERE: Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor.

WHAT’S AT STAKE: OSU is 8th in the College Football Playoff rankings. UM is 10th. Winner can clinch Big Ten East division championship if Michigan State loses to Penn State
