Detroit Searches for Running Water in Abandoned Homes

Detroit officials say they plan to send teams throughout the city this weekend to check whether homes being billed for water usage actually have anyone living there.

The man in charge of Detroit’s efforts to collect payments for water, Gary Brown, tells WDET’s Quinn Klinefelter that the city is doing better at obtaining the revenue owed to it but much more remains to be done.
