Detroit Institute of Arts Celebrates Dia de los Muertos with Ofrendas Exhibit

The Detroit Institute of Arts is featuring an exhibition of 16 ofrenda altars made by local artists. It’s the third year the museum has displayed altars to commemorate the Mexican Day of the Dead holiday. Emily Bowyer is the museum’s family program coordinator. She says the wide range of artwork within the exhibit is one of the most exciting parts for visitors. The ofrenda exhibit is now open to the public and runs through Nov. 1
